Summer Term means reporting - and Earwig is making it so much easier

Earwig has upgraded its already super-slick reporting facility making it easier than ever to produce beautiful, accurate and instant reports.

There are two new ‘visual’ Earwig pupil reports formats available.

Most Earwig reports are ‘framework specific’.  So, although they are brilliant and save teacher huge amounts of time and effort, they only report on one framework or curriculum at a time and are, based, primarily, on performance data. (The only exception to this is the Timeline Report, which is just a PDF of the relevant pupil timeline, with a covering sheet for teacher comments.)

Our schools asked us for a more structured report which was qualitative, rather than quantitative and which covered everything that pupil was doing, across the school.  The result is a couple of Evidence Reports which are exactly that. These reports are based mainly on Earwig records, rather than data, in a more formal report structure. So they have a very visual style  -  some commentary, some records, and some photos - for staff to choose how much of each, as the configuration options allow teachers to decide on everything.

What's the difference between the two templates?

Template Alpha: Has a pre-set format which allows for a limited amount of commentary and imagery per curriculum area.

Template Beta: Is a looser format. So staff can write as much as they like - no tight structure per page.

Each of these templates can, as usual, be configured by school Earwig Admins in multiple different configurations. So, if schools want to configure it one way for a certain pathway, and another way for the next pathway, etc, they can fill their boots.
